Ian Darrah brings his expertise and experience as a yoga teacher trainer to Green Monkey's SoMi Studio again during the winter and spring of 2014. Ian is an E-RYT 500 and has spent time training under the most masterful Vinyasa, Ashtanga, Satyananda, and Sivananda teachers in the world. Having mentored thousands of students since his own teacher's training course, he is widely recognized as a knowledgeable and powerful carrier of the wisdom tradition. His strength as a teacher comes from decades as an impassioned student of health and human potential and daily dedication to personal development and the empowerment of others.

YOGA ALLIANCE TEACHER TRAINING REQUIREMENTS:

180 Contact Hours
Asana classes
20 Asana classes with Ian (including distinct yoga styles & guest faculty)
5 Asana classes with Ian (in addition to Thurs class)
4 Asana classes observing the teacher
3 Asana classes teaching the class
Graded homework, study questions and self practice
30 minutes daily/5 days per week
(meditation, pranayama, mantra)
1 self asana practice per week
Guided self-study: sutras, anatomy, Light on Yoga
Daily journaling
Reading & essay on Bhagavad Gita

Cost:
  • $3,295 | Payment must be received in full by March 8th, 2014
  • Free yoga from March 8th through May 17th.
  • $3,595 | if paid after March 8th, 2014.


  • Weekly Schedule:

    Thursdays 6:00 – 8:30pm | Practice & Practicum; Observing & Assisting

    Saturdays 12:30 – 5:30pm | Guest Faculty, Techniques & Training

    Sundays 12:30pm – 5:30pm | Guest Faculty, Techniques & Training


    Certification:

    Certification is not guaranteed. In order to receive the certification,
    all requirements must be fulfilled in a satisfactory manner, you must pass the final exam and you must demonstrate that you can effectively  teach a class.  The scheduled group meeting times and the workshops are considered  mandatory and if you miss them you need to make them up.  There are options for gaining the experience/knowledge from a missed workshop or TTC session.  Inquire with Ian and he will guide you on how to do it.  It may take longer than the 10 weeks to complete the requirements.
